PhotoView 360 Presentations in August

August is shaping up to be a busy month and I have SWUGN and PhotoView 360 to thank. Seems PhotoView 360 presentations are in high demand at SolidWorks user groups and I ‘ve been asked by a number of group leaders to present the topic. Typically I limit my user group traveling to a 4 hour one way maximum drive so I’m not able to go to every group that makes a request but I do have a couple of meetings this month.

First meeting is for the Boston Area SolidWorks User Group (BASWUG). I’ve presented for this group in the past and they always have a good meeting turnout. That’s to be expected I think when your in SolidWorks back yard. The meeting will be help on Thursday August, 18th from 5:30 to 9:00 at Nuvera in Billerica, MA. I’ll be giving a presentation covering both PhotoView 360 2010 and 2011. Julie Napolitan from SolidWorks will also be there showing plastic part design. Next stop is the Tech Valley SolidWorks User group (TVSWUG) in Albany, NY. The meeting will be on Thursday August, 25th from 5:30-9:00 at the Albany Public Library. My presentation will cover PhotoView 360 2011 as well as modo. Some members of Tech Valley group specifically asked for a look at modo so I’m going to show both. John Picinich from CADimensions will also be on hand to cover EPDM. You can see a full agenda and meeting details here. I’m breaking the rules on this one a bit, Google shows a driving time of 4 hours and 9 minutes.

If you’re in the Boston or Albany area stop by and check out your local SolidWorks user group. Chances are you’ll leave with more than what you came with.

One last thing on the agenda for August is the blogger/press meeting at SolidWorks. I’ll cruise back down to Boston for this and spend a couple of days learning all about SolidWorks 2012. While I’m there I’m also going to try and find some new information on “SolidWorks V6″. It’s been a while since the CAD community has been updated on the status of “SolidWorks V6″ so hopefully I’ll be able to report something. It would also be nice to have a test drive of SolidWorks Live Buildings which was shown at SolidWorks World. Fingers crossed.

2009 North Eastern SolidWorks User Conference

neswuc-2009 Registration is now open for the 2009 North Eastern SolidWorks User Conference (NESWUC). Aside from SolidWorks World this will be the largest SolidWorks user conference in North America. NESWUC 2009 is a one day event taking place on Friday, October 16th at the Westford Regency in Westford, MA.

Building on the HUGE success of NESWUC 2008, the organizers have put together another great meeting for 2009. Here’s what you can expect to find.

Technical Sessions:
There will be (4) 90 minute tech session time slots with (6) different topics to choose from in each time slot. That’s a total of (24) tech sessions! With this many sessions to choose from every attendee should be able to find a number of tech topics they are interested in. Sessions will be given by SolidWorks employees, VAR Application Engineers and power users. I’ll be there giving the PhotoWorks and PhotoView 360 sessions.

Developer Sessions:
There will be (4) 90 minute developer sessions where attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with SolidWorks software developers.

Special Presentation:�
The final presentation of the day will be a 75 minute session covering a topic everyone should be interested in. I can’t mention it here but if you attended NESWUC 2008 you already have a good idea what it will cover.

Product Showcase:
There will be a number of partner product vendors on display at NESWUC 2009. Categories include but are not limited too, reverse engineering, 3D printing, inspection, training, CAD/CAM, Design Services, Job Placement, and Sheetmetal.

Networking:
This event is expected to draw in excess of 300 people. You’ll be meeting SolidWorks users from various industries as well as SolidWorks employees, partner product vendors, user group leaders and others with a passion for design and engineering.

Food:
Of course a continental breakfast and full lunch buffet are provided.

There will also be some great prize giveaways and I’m sure there are a couple more surprises that will happen throughout the day.

All this for only $55 dollars if you register before October 2nd. If you’re looking to expand your SolidWorks knowledge and networking you’ll definitely want to attend this event.

On The Road Again.

wmass-swug On Wednesday June, 24th I’ll be traveling to Springfield, Massachusetts to present a Realview, PhotoWorks, PhotoView 360 session at the Western Massachusetts Solidworks User Group meeting. I’ll be one of two presenters at the meeting which will be held at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Academy. If you’re a SolidWorks user in the Springfield area stop in, say “hi”, network with others and learn something new.
